Snow Trains were introduced during the 1930s depression years in America. They were special trains put on to boost passenger numbers by transporting passengers to ski resorts. The trains were self-contained ski breaks that would pick up at stations across the country, take them to ski resorts. The train was then used as a ski lodge, with passengers able to eat in the dining cars during the break. Then returned back home.
