Product Description: Listing Update...This is not so much an update as it is a brief comment about the computers and related parts I have available for sale. Personal computers (and in particular desktop computers) have always been a hobby of mine. I've enjoyed tinkering with this stuff over the years and have accumulated a number of items during this time...some new and some used. I am not an expert on the subject...more of an enthusiast...but I will still do my best to answer any questions as it relates to my computer related listings. Thank you. Original Listing... This offering is for a new Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-03 mid tower computer case. I believe this was the final Corsair offering that featured this aggressive (and sometimes polarizing) front panel grill design. There were the SPEC-01 and SPEC-2 models that preceded it, but they were all similar in their overall appearance. I should also note the Carbide series is Corsair's entry-level series for cases, but I believe there are differences in case quality, materials, etc., when considering Corsair's entry-level to some other brands. It's still no better than a middle-of-the-road case by most standards, but to call it entry-level is probably a bit harsh. The expansion options probably represent my favorite design feature of this case. More specifically, there are two 5.25" drive bays (for CD/DVD players), three 3.5" drive bays (for traditional hard drives), two 2.5" drive bays/mounts (for SSDs) and seven expansion slots. In the interest of being fair and balanced, a negative to the case design is the lack of a power supply shroud. Please also note this is the windowed version of this case. So it has an acrylic (thin/transparent plastic) window built into the steel side panel that allows for a view of the case build. Finally, there are three new Rosewill mm case fans with red LEDs (two 140 mm fans mounted at the front for intake and one 120 mm fan mounted at the rear for exhaust). One 120 mm Corsair branded case fan was originally included with the case, but I upgraded to the three Rosewill case fans (with fluid dynamic bearings) to improve the overall case airflow. The next question is probably something along the lines of how did I end up with this new case (especially since it's been out of current production for years). The short answer is I built a number of computers in this case (and it's sister models...the SPEC-01 and SPEC-02 cases) maybe 3-5 years ago. I must've had plans for this one at some point, because I upgraded the case fans (as detailed above), but that's it. I've just got too many new computer cases sitting on the shelf and since I do not have any immediate plans for this one, I'll make it available to someone that may want it (especially since this model is hard to find in new condition in today's market). Having said all of the above, I thought it might also be helpful if I shared a spec. sheet of sorts that highlights some of the primary computer case features: Basic Description (type/color): Mid tower with a ventilated top, front panel/bezel and a black finish Case Material: mostly steel with a windowed (acrylic) side panel and a plastic front panel/bezel Motherboard Compatibility: ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX Dimensions (H x W x D): 17.3" x 7.3" x 17.5" Weight: 12.46 lbs. Front Panel Ports: two blue USB Type-A (3.2 Gen 1 running at 5 Gb/s), an audio input (microphone) and an audio output (speaker/headphone)...there is also a hard drive LED, an on/off button with a LED indicator and a reset button Expansion: Two 5.25 drive bays (for CD/DVD drives), two 3.5" drive bays (for hard drives), two 2.5" drive bays/mounts (for SSDs) and seven expansion slots Fan Options: Front (2 x 120 mm or 2 x 140 mm / included), top (2 x 120 mm), bottom (1 x 120 mm) and rear (1 x 120 mm / included) Radiator Options (max size): Not applicable according to manufacturer specifications Other: There is a removable filter on the bottom of the case (under which the power supply fan will be positioned). This will need to be removed and cleaned periodically to keep good (cool) airflow entering into the power supply unit. In terms of condition, this is a new case and will be shipped in it's original box with all the factory foam packing to ensure safe transit. As mentioned above, I upgraded the fans in this case at some point, but that's as far as I got with any potential customer build before it went back in the box. I can also confirm the case still has it's full compliment of accessories in a small cardboard box that is anchored with a twist tie (and is visible in one of the pictures above). So again, it's effectively a new case, but I am calling it an open box offering, because of it's brief history out of the box (to upgrade the fans). Listing Update...I actually have two of these cases with the exact same fan upgrades and will sell them one at a time. You may visit our store by clicking on this "Store Home Page" link. Note to domestic customers regarding oversized package shipping... For domestic packages, FedEx Ground or FedEx Home Delivery Service generally offers the lowest ground shipping rate for oversized packages in the continental US (i.e., the "Lower 48"). My domestic shipping costs to Alaska, Hawaii and the US Territories are much higher. It's also worth noting if cost is not as much of an issue (or if you prefer US Postal Services "USPS" over FedEx), then USPS Priority Mail service is generally the most timely of the domestic shipping options. Note to international customers regarding oversized package shipping... International shipping requirements vary for larger packages (including size limitations from country to country). As a result, international customers should contact us before purchasing larger items. We are then able to research shipping options to determine if we are able to ship a particular oversized item to your country and then provide an accurate shipping quote. This way we will avoid any confusion or misunderstanding with respect to international shipping of oversized packages. Note to international customers regarding customs... We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly abide by them.
