Endler's are most often found in more stagnant waters, compared to other guppies who prefer faster waters. Endler'swere named after John Endler, a Canadian biologist who re-discovered these fish in 1975 which at that time were considered to be extinct. Endler livebearers are very hardy and undemanding in the aquarium. They prefer hard, warm water, but they will do very well in soft water as well. The warmer the water, the faster they will grow: 27 C (75-81 F). This is slightly higher than their guppy cousins, which prefer 23?25 C (73-77 F).
