Description: NC Wyeth Bronco Buster, my rendition: the need for cattle and horses in the early west brought about the rodeo. This is a hand painted rendition of my interpretation of NC Wyeth’s original painting of Bronco Buster. It is painted on 22”x28” canvas board. The art of the rodeo originated out of the practice of Spanish ranchers and their Mexican ranch hands (vaqueros). Both cattle and horses were needed for survival during the days of the early settlement of Mexico and the western territories. The beginnings of the rodeo can be traced back to the ranches of the early 1700’s when the Spaniards ruled the West. The American cowboy began practicing the rodeo as a sport after saw the vaqueros.
