Description: Vintage 1947 - 1950's Arranbee R & B Hard Plastic Strung Doll 16" Nanette ~ Original Dress with Vintage Hat, Socks and Side Snap Shoes Adorable blonde strung hard plastic Nanette doll by Arranbee / R & B. She is unmarked and is loose. She would need restrung. This pretty girl has a blonde mohair or floss wig that is in original braids. The wig does have issues .. it's a bit dirty and is messy. The wig part at the bangs has come loose and needs some attention. The bangs are a bit thin and the braids are fairly thick .. just messy. There are royal blue velvety bows that I believe are original and match the dress nicely. The hat helps hide the wig issues. She has a pretty face with sleep eyes. The lashes are rooted and look to be complete. She has good brows and nice pink cheeks. There are no rubs but she does have some scratches and dirty spots that need cleaning. I didn't want to chance messing up her cheek color so I left for new owner. She has red lip paint .. top edge has rubs and it's left a line above her lips to make them look messy. She has a nice body with some light wear / scratches. There are some dirty spots (mostly on legs and arms). I don't see any major stains or flaws. She has had her fingernails painted by former owner and aer a bit messy. She is hard plastic and does have the slight plastic odor but it's not overwhelming. She is around 17" tall. She is definitely a girl in need of a spa day. The outfit consists of an Original Dress, Vintage Hat, Panties, Socks and Shoes. The hat is a cream straw or horsehair. I don't see any stains or breaks. It's a big brimmed hat and looks cute with the dress. The hat band is a cream white with blue stitching. It appears to be a vintage piece but I don't know if it's original. It came to me on her so I left it (plus it helps hide the wig issues). From edge to edge, the hat measures to be 7-1/2" across. The dress is original. It's royal blue and white gingham check print. The front has a royal blue organdy panel apron. There are white buttons at the waist and ties that tie in the back. The back of the dress closes with square snaps. There are some dirty spots on the dress .. one on the left sleeve and one on the front lower part of the gingham. They are both small and hard to see. The royal blue organdy material is nice with no tears. The dress is untagged. I included a picture from my book, Arranbee Dolls by Suzanne L DeMillar and Dennis J Brevik. The picture can be seen on page 91. It's not an exact match to this dress but similar. She comes with original cream cotton panties. They don't have a closure piece so former owner added a newer safety pin. There are some dirty spots on the panties. She comes with vintage cream rayon socks. There are some light dirty spots but no major runs or holes. Finally, the shoes are vintage side snap shoes in black. They are made of a leatherette material with small flat heel. The bottoms are cardboard and in nice shape. The snaps are greek key snaps in black. The shoes fit her very snug (especially with socks). I will leave them on the doll so they don't tear. The straps already have some wear and I don't want to damage them any further. I will leave for new owner to remove but are on her currently and look nice.
