STOYAN CHRISTOWE came to America from his native Macedonia when he was 17 years old. This is the story of how he became an American. In 1960, as Stoyan continued his quest to understand the meaning of 'Americanness', and, relentless in his effort to become an exemplary American, he ran for a seat in the Vermont Legislature, won and served as a state representative from 1961 to 1962.In 1963 he ran for a senate seat, and won the Republican nomination for his county by a landslide. Reelected in 1968, he retired in 1972. In all, he published six books, three fictionalized histories and three autobiographical works. In 2020 a 1-hour documentary was released, "My American Pilgrimage". Measures 7 1/2" tall x 5" wide. The book is in good condition with the binding intact. There are no torn or missing pages. Numbers are written on the spine and back inside cover, but no other writing is present. Normal discoloration, fading, marks, dings, and wear are consistent with the book's age, usage, and storage.
