This clay tablet has 10 lines and is in very good condition. This has an inventory number from a prior collection, the number reads "20" on the side. Many tablets were inventories or business or land or house purchase contracts.Cuneiform is the earliest known writing system that was developed. ***Please be aware that this is an ancient work of art and is quite fragile, as such the wear and tear is normal and part of the age.*** PROVENANCE: Purchased from the Estate of Curtis Schnell, Los Angeles. He was a well known art director in Hollywood films and TV and had a good collection of ancient art and antiquities. I have several other items listed from same estate with provenance documents, but the tablets did not come with documentation, but most have inventory numbers written on the side. Condition: Very good condition. Nice aged patina, wear to relief of terracotta, scuffs and cracks. Please see photos.
