Description: MEASURES:Height: 7,87 inch; Diameter: 6,3 inch ; Weight: 2,13 lbsCONDITIONS:Perfect in every way. Item description:Delightful Murano scavo glass white opaline tending towards blue vase, with a cylindrical body and a wide circular mouth with a flat brim, enriched by a blue glass paste cord with concentric circles, which starts from the mouth and ends under the middle of the main body of the vase. Unsigned vase, attributable to the artistic glassworks of Archimede Seguso, datable to the second half of the 20th century. The grinding under the base can be easily seen, where the pontile was attached (an iron rod that is used to introduce and remove the vase from the oven in the various stages of its processing, when the work in glass is detached from the pontil, a glass beak is created that must be ground). The various dark spots, present on the vase, are wanted by the artist to give the object a sense of greater antiquity, probably the vase was treated with acids and other materials to give this effect of scavo glass.Useful information for the evaluation of the object:In the photos, just below this description, we have put the first four auction results achieved by Archimede Seguso's glass to give an idea of the importance of this great glass artist. Then we have put some similar vases, in color, type of opaline glass used and artistic workmanship, even if either smaller or in any case much simpler than ours, apart from the third, of a different shape, but the only one in iridescent opaline glass, in fact sold for €741, excluding the 25-30% auction fee. Finally we added two scavo glasses, also by Archimede Seguso, one in the shape of an amphora with handles in the same light blue glass paste as our cordolo, offered on 1stDibs at €1,263 and another very very similar to ours, with the same acid treatment and the same dark spots as ours but made in pink opaline glass instead of the light blue white one like ours, and with a green glass paste cord applied only on the neck of the vase with several turns, furthermore this vase is smaller than ours and was sold on 1stDibs at €550.Information on artist and/or manufacturer: Archimede Seguso (Murano, 1909 - 1999) was an Italian entrepreneur and master glassmaker. Considered "a living encyclopedia of glass" (as he was defined by Giuseppe Cappa, in the book "Le Genie Verrier de L’Europe"), he was one of the most famous Venetian glassmakers, distinguishing himself above all in the processing of heavy glass (called massello), he boasts numerous auction results and thousands of collectors. ENTER OUR EBAY SHOPPORCELAINS, CERAMICS, TERRACOTTE, BRONZE, PAINTINGS, FURNITURE, GLASS AND MUCH MORE AS, FOR EXAMPLE: OUR COMMERCIAL POLICYAware of operating in the eBay market, our prices are often lower than the real value of the object, as often documented in our descriptions, and also lower than the prices at which very similar objects are offered on other online art sales platforms and antiques. At the same time, eBay reciprocates with the possibility of selling a high quantity of objects, so our commercial policy is to earn little for the single object, but sell a lot and therefore earn on the quantity. In fact, the asking price is always as low as possible, considering how much the item was paid for and the eBay commissions (for the sale, payment and any currency exchange: from a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 21% , according to the country in which the advertisement was made). For each object there may be multiple advertisements in different countries: USA, Italy, France, United Kingdom, etc. Any price differences are due only to changes in the exchange rate of the various currencies between when we made the advertisement and when you see it. SHIPPING WORLDWIDE - RETURN ALWAYS ACCEPTEDThe cost of packaging is also calculated in the shipping cost, and everything has increased by 19% because both ebay and paypal also take fees on the shipping cost. OUR SHIPMENTS:.Our shipments cost a little more than the average, but they are all shipments with professional packaging. Double box with a lot of bubble wrap around the object and a lot of soft material in the large cavities on all sides between the two boxes. This means that the package is much larger and heavier and therefore the cost of shipping increases, not to mention all the work necessary to carry out a similar packaging and the cost of the various materials used.
