Description: Super661 USA Nodular Iron Midplate. This replaces weak aluminum cast midplates in a Muncie 4 speed. It eliminates the sloppy rear bearing fit. You no longer have to worry about hard shifts widening the rear bearing snap ring groove common with these die cast aluminum plates. The "Super 661 Plate" acts as a girdle preventing case twist during holeshots. Best used with a Supercase Kit ( 18-410-002 ) and with countershaft 297-3AHP ( available on Ebay ) which will allow the shaft to be bolted to the plate for additional support. Plate is also machined to allow through venting of the main case and tail. If accuracy and strength are important versus the cheaper offshore plates made with huge tolerance swings then this part is for you. Poorly aligned plates that fit loose in cases may work but will cause premature wear of bearings, rear bushings and driveshaft yokes.
