Mrs. Claus Dickens Xmas Caroler Cape Skirt Victorian Maroon Flannel Costume OS

Description: For consideration is a handmade Victorian-style Mrs. Claus/Dickens' Xmas caroler 4-piece costume. It has a hooded capelet, long skirt, short over-skirt, & wide ribbon sash for the waist. The maroon flannel is 100% cotton, as is the capelet lining. The hooded capelet is a long style & is trimmed w/ a white faux fur sewn on by hand for a quality finish. The capelet closes at the neckline with a large, fancy, white frog. The long skirt has an elastic draw waist for tying off to your fit inside the back center seam. The short over-skirt has a ribbon draw on the inside side seams. Arrange the gather where you prefer it fullest & tie it to your comfort. I put more gather in the back for the look I am showing. The back center is pleated up. I just turn under the bottom part to the length (being flannel it stays well). I added a beautiful, wide winter print (white branches on white w/ red sparkle berries), ribbon to tie at the waist. I left it with the wiring for forming a puffy bow & there is plenty of length for larger sizes or cutting some off to trim any accessories such as a bonnet. The edges have been fray blocked. The sweep of the long skirt allows for wearing over crinolines (& a hoop if worn without the over-skirt). The hem of both skirts is the natural selvage edge. Skirt is shown on a small body form over a crinoline in the pics & the crinoline is not included in this sale. This outfit has very flexible sizing that includes reg thru some plus sizing (BUT check over-skirt hip/sweep measurements for any plus fitting). Probably best for S thru XL for a good draping of the over-skirt.
