Carving a realistic portrait from mother-of-pearl is an incredibly challenging task, far more difficult than using paints. This is a unique miniature, and I believe it was originally housed in a different frame. Dimensions: The frame measures 10cm x 12.5cm, while the portrait itself is 6.5cm x 5.2cm.
