Description: if you're looking at this and dont know what this is save your breath and just scroll past this. if you do know what this is, then you know it's a piece that could put your collection into the elite of the elites. i've had crazy offers and trades for this unit in the past, however i've always turned them down under the principle that it wasn't completed yet. however recently it has been completed to the best of my abilities, i'd be fine letting it have a new home. there's maybe one or two things more you could do to it to make it the most perfect ever but not without risking damage, so i've not replaced the dim screen backlight or upgraded the dvd drive to a blu ray one. the pictures speak for themselves, but i'll jott down how absurd this machine is:this was the first computer put out after hp bought out voodoopc, launched ces 2007. however voodoo had already basically done it on their own before the buyout, so you could consider this the FINAL true voodoopc laptop. and what a send off it was. using wayback machine and looking back at both the us and canadian voodoo websites i could only ever find the HW:201 for sale for just a few months. after that they started shifting to the voodoodna brand by hp and it was all downhill from there. basically this is a alienware malx but way way rarer. ive had 10 malx machines before ive had even a single voodoo item. its true that it's basically a alienware malx, but it isnt garbage because its dual core 2.4ghz and 8gb of ddr2. i found that putting even win10 on it, its still actually usable. it's a max spec unit; absurdly rare and collectable already. amd tl-68 cpu; absurdly rare and collectable already. dual 7950gtx 512mb gpus; absurdly rare and collectable already. its a voodoo envy; absurdly rare and collectable already. its a m59ke base; absurdly rare and collectable already. ive named it greg; absurdly rare and collectable already. you cant price this. all of those on their own usually fetch thousands. only thing you can knock this system for is that its not a brand new sealed flawless condition unit. but 1) nobody will ever sell one like that and 2) given it was literally a recycle center rescue and rebuilding and repairing it to its current state took over 5 years, i say it's doing just fine. pictures show other units next to it; note the only thing in this listing is the huge green one. the other units are not for sale... yet ; ) if you're feeling as green with envy as this machine, send a message, maybe we can work something out. if you recognize any of the other machines in the pictures and have more questions or just feel like chatting about 20 year old computers thats fine too. as for why i'm listing this, really its just to see what happens. if it does sell then i'd want to use the funds just to help my family. if not then hey now there's more pictures of this rare machine online. and if this does stay up for 68.9 years with no sale then that's fine too, this always has been the foundation of my collection and it will be fine to retain that status. theres not much more to be said. i've never sold an item this rare or expensive on this site before so i guess expect more handling time but thats about it. hope you enjoyed this units story regardless. thanks for looking!
