After a solid string of albums where band leader Steve Rowe strayed quite far off the beaten path by experimenting with the sound of Mortification, this recording has brought him full circle back to his death metal roots. 'Erasing The Goblin' is the album that fans of old school Mortification have been waiting to hear for a very long time. No doubt many will see this latest endeavor as the best work that the band has put forth since 1992’s Scrolls Of The Megilloth album. Erasing The Goblin shows all the signs of the band's classic sound, including Steve’s trademark growl and million mile an hour riffing. The production is up to date and there are a few modern elements, but all in all this is Mortification the way we all like it. Of the ten tracks contained herein, the songs tend to run pretty long but never become tired or drawn out. There are mega hooks and enough thrash metal angst to keep the pit moving at a constant pace throughout the length of the disc.
