Catalonia is a historic region and autonomous community of Spain. It's located in the northeastern corner of the country, and includes the provinces of Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona. Morat Aragons was born in Reus the capital of Baix Camp, in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia, Spain. He lived in Cornudella from 1928 - 1941, associating with the likes of Ignasi Mallol, Bosch Roger, and Gonzalo Lindin. It was Ivo Pascual, however, who encourage him to study the Fine Arts. Already initiated in Impressionism, his frequent travels to Paris from the 1950s onward, helped define his synthesis between the naturalist tradition of landscape, constructivist rationalization (inherited from Cezanne), and abstraction.
