Description: This is a custom 11-12" figure of fictional western TV character, Miss Kitty Russell from the tv show "Gunsmoke". Gunsmoke was one of the longest running television shows in history with a 20 year run from 1955 through 1975 on CBS. Miss Kitty was the owner of the Long Branch saloon one of the favorite gathering places for the residents of Dodge City, Ks. Marshal Matt Dillon was the US Marshal in the area and Kitty's boyfriend. James Arness played the part of US Marshal Matt Dillon. Dillon was a fair, but no nonsense lawman. Among their friends were several of the townspeople of Dodge City. Chester Goode was Matt's deputy. Dennis Weaver played the role of Chester. Doc Adams (played by Milburn Stone) was the town doctor. Both were very good friends of Kitty's and Matt's. Kitty was quick with a free drink, a meal, or a loan if somebody needed help. There were a handful of different bartenders throughout the years but the most remembered bartender was Sam (Glenn Strange). There were a lot of interesting characters that passed through Dodge from time to time. From gamblers, gunfighters, cowboys, saloon gals, farmers, ranchers, and the like there was never a dull moment in Dodge City. This was one of the coolest shows on tv when it was on. you can sometimes find this series on dvd or channels that run old westerns or tv series. While this figure does not look exactly like Miss KItty/Amanda Blake, there is a bit of a resemblance. PLEASE NOTE- with a shortage of female figures to work with for customs, this Barbie seemed like the best available option and the figure displays well, though the figure is not very poseable. PLEASE NOTE - the umbrella does not open. (twist tie to hold umbrella closed. there is a bracelet to hold the umbrella on the figure's wrist. (PLEASE NOTE- there are a couple of factory imperfections on the dress - pin holes/flaws-see pics- still displays well) stand included. sold as is. this item is designed for display and not play for the old west or tv fan.
