Description: I bought a collection from an Estate many years ago and have sold most of them. I am downsizing and am parting with my last 2. They are 1970s wicker made by Shanghai Industries. This one is the Antelope. It is very large and has a little "baby" on its back that comes off to reveal a "storage" area. Sometimes these are called "baskets." Condition is phenomenal with 3 very very minor issues. One issue is the horns. They are made to be removable and ONE of them was missing the peg that helps hold it in and was modified. This does not affect them, they still stay in, they don't fall out. Looks perfect, but, I am just pointing it out. When it is shipped, they will be removed so as not to break! There is a teeny tiny chip in the end tip of one horn, see photo, it is shown magnified, Its very minor.Lastly the interior/underside of the little baby "lid" has some crackles. Shown in the photo. This does not show because you don't see the underside of the lid. None of these things are of consequence to the overall piece. It's outstanding. Because of the size of this, it will be very expensive to ship! Keep that in mind. It is 21" tall and 16" long. This piece is unmarked, however, it is Shanghai Industries and was purchased with a collection of others with the original stickers. The work is clearly much higher quality than those cheap wicker basket animals you see online. This is not that. This is obviously a higher level of workmanship and the quality shows.
