Description: This vase was thrown and trimmed by hand on a potter's wheel. After the piece had been bisque fired, fine masking tape was applied to create a linear geometric pattern in the glaze. The tape then has to be painstakingly removed prior to glaze firing, so it is a very time and labor intensive technique of surface decoration. The pattern was influenced by Mid-Century Modern designs. The vase features an eye catching turquoise matte finish glaze. The piece was created in 2019 and has remained in the artist's private collection until now, which explains why it is both new and not.
