Our Biomedical Engineering Department went over it from top to bottom and it is now in perfect working order. We disassembled it, cleaned it, lubricated it and then reassembled it, tested and calibrated it. We then touched up some minor scratches and now it looks as good as it performs.This Thermo microtome has all the features of a top of the line microtome. It turns smooth as silk and cuts beautiful ribbons (see images) cleanly and precisely. All the controls are crisp and you may operate it under power or manually, as the situation may require. A foot switch, a remote control and a copy of its Operation Manual are included with this motorized microtome. This microtome was made for the North American market and is wired for 115V/60Hz power.
