Description: Wow!!! This will make you want to sing M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E! Before the 1955 television show, there were real clubs that met at local theaters. The Mickey Mouse Club originally started at the Fox Dome Theater in Ocean Park, California. The club - and the mouse - quickly grew in popularity and spread to various theaters across the country, children and their parents meeting to watch cartoon matinees. The club grew so big that it had over one million members by 1932! This charming full figure graphite drawing is rendered on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper and was initially thought to be part of a 1931 travelogue film with Douglas Fairbanks. It is now known to be part of a rare short promoting these clubs. This is from 1929 the same year Walt stopped drawing the infamous mouse. It's nearly impossible to know if this was from the hand of Walt himself, but rest assured he would have had to approve it. This smiling mouse is centered on the page, measuring approximately 3'' x 3''. Mickey is labeled 168 in the lower right corner. Very Good condition with light age-related toning and minor handling wear.
