McIntosh MC-240 Vintage Tube Stereo Power Amplifier (recapped, sounds great)

Description: This McIntosh MC-240 is in pretty good shape for it's age and sounds great! We've replaced the large electrolytic capacitors and rebuilt the bias board. All of the original "black beauty" capacitors are present except for two which someone else had replaced before we bought the amp. The 6L6GC tubes are Russian and Chinese, but sound just fine. All of the 12AX7, 12BH7, and 12AU7 are vintage American tubes. There are a few small cosmetic issues that I want to point out:We polished the chassis and it looks pretty good from a few steps away, but a closer inspection shows pitting and specs of surface rust.One of the transformer cases has a small dents. This has no impact on operation, purely a cosmetic issue. The screws on the 16-ohm outputs are missing. Obviously, this is only an issue if you plan to use the amp with a 16-ohm speaker. If so, you can take them off the 8 or 4-ohm, or buy replacements for a few bucks. I apologize if shipping seems steep, but this is obviously a very heavy and delicate item that requires a lot of packaging material. The amplifier will be double-boxed and treated to our foam-in-place packaging system. Rest assured, it will reach you in fine condition! SHIPPING/PACKAGING: All orders ship within one business day.
