Description: 1941 Banknote From Serbia One Hundred Dinars Currency Pick#23 Overprinted on Yugoslavia Pick 27 For your World Currency Collection-PCU1681 Details Description: A nice very fine banknote from Serbia. This is the 100 Dinars or Dinara currency note issued by The National Bank of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia on December 1, 1929. The note is light purple on yellow on the front showing a woman seated with a sword in her hand to the right with a sea scene in the center and to the left showing boats and a cityscape in the center. The back has a multicolored design showing a boat in the center and a man holding fruit and leaning on a shield to the right. The note has been printed over by the Bank of Serbia with the date 1 May 1941 making it legal tender in Serbia at that time. The note has a water mark showing the head of Alexander I of Yugoslavia in the 1920s within the white circle to the right bottom corner on the front. The note shows the denomination, two signatures, and the serial number on the front. The back displays only the denomination. This particular note has the serial number 59911899 and it is series K.2397. Please carefully review the scans as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: The banknote is dated 1 May 1941. Printer: Unknown. Size: Measures ~6 5/8" by ~4". Pick Number: P23 over printed on Yugoslavia P27b. Condition: I would grade this banknote as a very fine. The note still has all of its details well preserved. The note has folds both vertical and horizontal as well as some light wrinkling. It is soiled with some light staining along the folds. The corners are rounded and the edges show some roughness especially at the ends of the folds. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears and no splits. A nice and relatively scarce note worthy of a spot in your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
