Max Savy (1918-2010) paintings are part of the France's heritage collection, portraying everyday life scenes in the French Corbieres region. His artwork brought much success in his life, as he was admired and appreciated by many, and in 1973 the artist became a France's Knight of the National Order of Marit.Oil on canvas painting in Impressionism style, signed by the artist at the lower hand corner. Textured knife and brush work, bringing a dull harbour scene to life with accentuated brushstrokes and vivid colours. In excellent vintage condition, a couple of minor imperfections are present on the frame, however nothing stands out. Canvas measures 12" x 24", with frame - about 18" x 30". Looks fairly new, we estimate circa late 1990's-early 2000's. Some degree of discolouration and spotting is present on the surrounding linen mat and in the back of the canvas, which is normal for ageing oil paintings.More paintings coming soon!
