Description: Very interesting foreign object in die Error 1935 P Walking Liberty Half Filled Missing "In God We Trust" ... That you can see a light font inside of the error under a microscope really drives you crazy because you can almost read i The 1930s font that's been struck into this coin when something was in between the die and the coin. I'm thinking maybe a gum wrapper or a cigarette wrapper or something like that fell into the die somewhere along the line. It's a strange one and it's pretty neat also the coin is in really good shape. We're almost on the edge of cracking what it was that was inside the die if you have any ideas please send them our way Rare Mint Error 1935 P Walking Liberty Filled Die Error, Silver Extreme Error An exceptionally rare type of error. The entire right side of the front of Walking Liberty on this coin was struck through foreign object in error at the Philadelphia mint. There appear to be rows of serial numbers or digits in the strike. There's a good probability that this was a cigarette or a gum wrapper. Possibly a Player's Choice or Lucky strike. We've never seen anything quite like it and it's really neat. Guaranteed to grade as a mint error. We've spent a lot of time inspecting this coin on the microscope the last few days. Reverse of the coin is nearly perfect except for it's a little thicker on the rim edge. Please take your time and inspect the entire coin and please ask if you'd like more photos or any specific angles. We've been doing this a long time and we've never seen a Filled die that peaked our interest quite like this one. It was common in the old days from networkers to smoke on the job This type of error defies explanation. But as with anything things do happens and problems arise so at the mint in 1934 when they were meanting this walking liberty half dollar in Philadelphia something got in the way or fell into the machine from above. There appear to be several Rows of digits or numerals although they're nearly indecipherable. Several letters appear to be clearly readable including a U an S and an A in different places. The font that seems to be stamped into the coin is almost like a ghosting and it looks common to the era. On the bottom lower right of the coin the struck words "In God we trust" appear to have been chattered and stretched up and over. There's also several letters in the word Liberty missing.
