Description: An absolutely gorgeous & all original example of a 1930's Marx pressed steel army transport cargo truck. The condition of this truck is really fantastic. It is in unplayed with condition. The original army green paint is in fresh, rich, bright, & blazing condition. There are only a few very small areas of the paint which show any age. The truck has approximately 99%+ of the all original paint. The back of the truck still retains the all original dark brown canvas top. The canvas is complete & tight & retains all of the original stitching at the front & back top edges. The canvas top has one small stain at the back edge which is 1/2 inch in diameter. The canvas has the lightly inked wording on both sides: "U. S. A. National Guard". This wording was inked on the canvas in period by the original owner of the toy who never got around to playing with it. The front grille & bumper piece has developed an even & pleasing rich toning from natural age. This example, which is in truly exceptional condition for this type of toy truck, measures 9 7/8 inches long by 5 1/2 inches tall by 3 5/8 inches wide. The weight is 15.5 ounces. A recent Lancaster County, Pennsylvania estate find which clearly descended in unplayed with condition from the original owner.
