It won’t be as loud as a Spruce top model; however, the rich tones that are oozing out of this design will still be plenty heard. The trade-off of max volume is easily made up by all of the complex overtones that are easily found when playing this beauty. The fact is that no other design sounds like it, and that’s why Joe loves it! He played one many years ago and always wanted to offer a version that was unique to Empire.The Dreadnought body shape offers Martin’s most famous body shape to the build, and players will find that this guitar provides a mature tone with a light touch and opens up nicely.The secret to making this guitar work sonically was in the bracing choice. 5/16” scalloped bracing was deployed to offer two characteristics to the build. The 5/16” bracing is slightly thicker and keeps the top a bit more stiff, allowing for the notes to stay hyper-defined and never muddy. The scalloped brace allows for extra flexibility to enhance the warmth and total volume ceiling. The bracing design perfectly enhances the exotic Wild Grain East Indian Rosewood.We couldn’t design this model without some beautiful cosmetic appointments.
