Description: Blonde screwball comedienne Mabel Todd (1907-1977) (her actual name was Dobbs) started out in radio and vaudeville. She was featured in early Warner Brothers musicals, standing out for her idiosyncratic laughter and outsize personality in Hollywood Hotel (1937). She also made an impression as Dora Stanley, in Universal's Mystery of the White Room (1939). After being served little else but bit parts or cast as love interest for the likes of western sidekick Fuzzy Knight, Mabel returned to radio. In the 1940's she was working with Jackie Gleason and co-starred in Morey Amsterdam's "The Laugh N' Swing Club". She was married to Morey Amsterdam in 1933.
