Description: Marcello Fantoni vase Italy circa 1960s. So characteristic of his work, with an abstract Etruscan inspired sgraffito face decor, a highly textured lumpy surface and a mottled glaze in medium blue, and black. Pictures taken at different exposures, color is closer to the First Photo. A square sculptural form, more a decorative object than a practical vase. The vase has a handpainted mark to the base 'Fantoni Italy'. A few Manufacture's glaze flaws (mentioned for accuracy) and a very minor "fleabite" (which is not noticeable at all when displayed) on the very bottom of piece. A great addition to any collection of Fantoni, Italian or European fine art ceramics or 20th century design. Would complement any retro, vintage, midcentury, modernist, 1950s, 1960s, minimalist or contemporary interior. Measures 7 x 4.1/4 x 2.1/4 inches.
