Description: This is an elegant little footstool, bought at an estate sale in County Wicklow (Ireland) in 1977. It dates from 1780-1800. It's very simple: a plain 10 5/8" circle of mahogany, then there are the legs, which are four 1" circles of mahogany and, from those, four 2" castors.The castors themselves are 1", of bone.Total height is 5 1/2". The castors are original. The screws holding them on are 1980s.The center screw on the bottom is 1980s. The original upholstery disintegrated, so in 2005, I had it recovered, in russet silk edged with gold braid. Condition issues are shown; it has the expected bumps and bruises but nothing major.
