Description: Truly beautiful frame, with multiple layers of original gilded surfaces including a narrow stenciled layer, and a beautifully contrasted ebonized layer with a dot and dash style pattern in gilt. Measures approximately 17.5 in x 23 in and is about 3.5 in deep. Will fit a painting approximately 9.75 in x 15.25. It can be used vertically or horizontally. There are pencil notes on the back, some with sizes, but a couple of intriguing ones. There is a pencil signature that looks like J. A. Wilmer or something similar; another note is Owned by L. Mablett 1900 (I may be misreading the names). Please see photos. This is original gilt and does not appear to have been retouched at any time. There is a very very narrow strip of gilt that is chipped off - you can see it in the horizontal view we've provided as well as in at least one more photo. If you were going to use this horizontally, I would just flip it so that the chipped section is at the bottom and it would not be visible to the casual viewer. Or this could be easily touched up to be less visible. We just wanted to offer this in original condition. Otherwise the condition is near perfect with only a few signs of typical age-related wear. We've provided quite a few photos for your inspection, please view carefully. We pack very securely and ship promptly. This will be be shipped in a large and sturdy box which will increase shipping costs. Heavy frame, weighs more than 6 lb before packing. All shipping includes tracking.
