Description: Absolutely one of the most important Mads ever published -- the very first full cover appearance of Alfred E. Neuman, introducing him as the official Mad mascot. Although I'm not a professional grader, I would give this copy a grade of Very Fine Minus. PLEASE SEE THE PICTURES. The magazine has intact staples and pages throughout. There is very light wear and creasing to the front cover. There is some light wear to the spine with some very light tearing near the staples and a tiny tear near the upper part of the spine. The pages are in nice shape although there are couple tiny tears on the crease of the centerfold, but the staples are firmly attached. There is very light wear and creasing of the back cover. This is a great copy of a most famous issue of Mad from the 1950's!
