Description: Mackintosh Kitsune Gray coat. Wool vest. Made in Scotland . size 40 EUC. Read.. I’m posting this as used. But I don’t see any signs of been worn. I just noticed a couple of tiny imperfections on the woolen vest. Please all pictures for details and measurements. Ask any questions you might have. No hood. In 1823, Charles Mackintosh (without the ‘k’) patented the process he developed of layering rubber onto cotton in such a manner to create the worlds first formal waterproof fabric. Hard to believe that almost two hundred years ago his creation signaled the arrival of the first Mackintosh coat. The brand has endured, overcoming several notable obstacles since those early years such as the smell and the odd melting in the sun issue. Mackintosh remains one of Scotland’s most trusted brands today, founded on pure craftsmanship and heritage. Although the Mackintosh coat has had to survive countless imitations over the years by other brands, a genuine Mackintosh should be made using proper rubberised material. Cutting-edge technology combined with traditional techniques have maintained that modern day ‘Mac’ remains a step ahead. Some smart branding of late hasn’t gone amiss either. For one, they are about to open the doors to a nifty two-floor flagship shop on Mayfair’s Mount Street in London elegantly designed by Tokyo-based design firm Wonderwall (opens 1st December, 2010). Other collaborations with Monocle Magazine and Kitsuné, the uber-cool French fashion and electronic music label, are clear indications to those in the know that Mackintosh are as relevant now as they ever were.
