Description: LUDWIG Early 60s No.411 14x6.5 Super Sensitive C.O.B Used Snare Drum This is a very rare and valuable pre-serial LM411 from the early 1960s, a chrome over brass super sensitive snare. The inner mute comes with a red felt baseball bat type, probably from around 1961-62. The shell is chrome over brass, so-called COB. The biggest feature is the fat sound typical of COB, and it is basically a full-scale version of the 402. Both the top and bottom hoops are made of original brass. The Snappy has been replaced with PURESOUND and the head with REMO, but all other parts appear to be original. A wonderful sound that combines the slightly tight bass sound typical of a super sensitive guitar with the fatness typical of a deep body COB shell. It's open and doesn't feel congested, and you can enjoy a fatter sound when you put a rim on it. This is Ludwig! It's a very bright sound, with a sense of volume and excellent clarity. This is a snare that is over 60 years old, so there are some small pits here and there, but considering its age, it is very clean and appears to be in mint condition.
