The wood is inletted for the first-generation type of attaching nut that was shaped like a “KEY-WAY” to prevent spinning. These forends will require installation by a qualified gunsmith to ensure proper fit between the wood and metal piece to prevent cracking. They have never been installed on a shotgun.
