Description: Presented is a lovely small satsuma pottery bud vase with hand painted scenes. This piece was made between 1890-1920s. The decorations display two scenes on either side. One of two women in a sitting room talking, and the other of large flowers with leaves and stems. The neck of the vase is decorated with many leaves and flowers and red boarders with gold decorations. There is a signature, two small Japanese characters, on the bottom of the piece. The vase is in great overall condition. A small chip on the edge has been filled in; which can be seen in the final photo. There are many lines in the glaze throughout the piece. This does not affect use of the vase. The painted elements are mostly crisp with bold colors. Measurements: 2 1/8 inches in diameter and 3 5/8 inches tall -kc Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
