Description: Presented is a lovely 3-piece English sterling silver tea set made in London in 1892. The set is a bachelor or demitasse size. This antique set is decorated with fancy hand-chased designs. There are many flowers, leaves, and scrolls shown in the pattern. The capacity of the teapot is about 10 fluid ounces. The capacity of the creamer is about 3 fluid ounces. Each piece is marked underneath with full English hallmarks: the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for London, and the date letter R, representing 1892. There is a maker's mark, JBC, for Carrington & Co (John Bodman Carrington). The “Carrington & Co/London/130 Regent St” mark is also present on each piece. The set is in overall good condition. The set has a heavy gauge construction. On the creamer, there is a small dent to one side of the spout as well as a ding on the lower side below the chased decorations. The sugar bowl has two similar dings, below the floral decorations, but are only noticeable upon close inspection.
