Description: Louisville Stoneware traces its roots back to 1815 making it one of the oldest stoneware companies in the country, still creating wonderful dinnerware and colorful home accessories I consulted with Louisville Stoneware back in the 1970's and purchased this pie plate then. Not being much of a cook and even less of a baker, I decided to attempt an Apple pie using an old recipe and this pie plate. Despite my efforts, this baked an absolutely wonderful pie, so good one neighbor suggested I enter the Kentucky State Fair baking thing. Didn't do it, but baked another one later with the same tasty results. Then I tucked it away until now, time to share. If I can do it, think about what you can do. This is a substantial piece and cleans easily. I think you will enjoy this piece of Kentucky history!
