Here is the official description of this masterpiece: To honour Poul Henningsen’s legacy of ingenious work with shaping light, Louis Poulsen presents a very special limited edition of his treasured PH 2/1 Table lamp. The exclusive version features Italian mouth-blown, amber-coloured glass shades that accentuate the shades’ organic form paired with a brass frame. The frame of the limited edition PH 2/1 Table lamp is based on that of a PH table lamp from around 1927. It features brass with a lightly brushed surface, the fine brush lines following the lamp’s contours and shape. As with the original lamp, the brass will patinate over time and enhance the beautiful authentic look and feel of the limited 2020 edition of the PH 2/1 Table lamp. The amber tone and glossy surface on the outside of the shades in combination with the sandblasted matt underside, gives a soft and diffuse light distribution, while radiating a pleasantly delicate glow. The light switch can be traced back to Henningsen’s 1927 table lamps. Also crafted from brushed brass, the through-switch is located on the stem near the base. Henningsen’s initials are beautifully and discreetly engraved beneath the lower glass shade. In other words, the limited edition PH 2/1 Table lamp unites some of Henningsen’s most thoughtful and aesthetically remarkable design elements.
