Description: Big lot of promotional material from this early private institution selling their teaching services in Washington DC in the late 19th and early 20th century. They specialized in preparing adult students in civil service jobs --- among other occupations. I can not find a lot about this outfit, but they put out a lot of paper promoting themselves. They really push to glorify the fact that they are in DC and somehow that should make a difference in the soon-to-be students success. Looks rather shady to me. IMHO. Nice looking paper though. Great look at DC in the 1900s. I have a large inventory of vintage paper: auto manuals, military paper, railroad stuff, food and recipe paper, political pamphlets, oddball magazines, entertainment paper --- just about any paper you can think of. Some of it is in perfect shape and some is in rough condition. Things to look out for in the photos are page yellowing, corner bumping, rips and tears, handwriting, etc. --- normal flaws in old paper. This includes outright mistakes, misrepresentations, or any errors on my part. I do not know everything about everything (don't tell my kids that please).
