Written from a Whig point of view, this provides a detailed look at the history of England from 1685 to 1702. First issued by Everyman's Library in 1906 in three volumes, this work was later issued in four volumes. Everyman's Library #36, an entry in EL's History series, edited by Ernest Rhys. In flatback binding style 1, full scarlet cloth-covered boards with elaborate Reginald Knowles-designed gilt spine titling & decorations, blindstamped J. M. Dent vignette to front cover, brown topstain and fancy Knowles woodcut art at title page, endpapers & frontis. Lacks the dust jacket.
