Description: The Thunderbolt Crayfish is a beautiful crayfish that is native to West Papua, Indonesia. These Crayfish display beautiful Pink, Purple, and Blue Colors making these one of the most beautiful crayfish in the world. They belong in the Cherax family and are more sensitive to water changes than Procambarus clarkii. You will receive fully grown crayfish that range from 3-7 inches that are ready to mate and carry eggs so you can start your Thunderbolt crayfish colony! These Crayfish need a good amount of hiding spots to feel safe and comfortable in their environment. A temperature from 75-82° F can speed up growth, promote molting, promote breeding, and increase the chances of fertilization during mating. Cherax pulcher will become aggressive as they mature, it is not recommended to keep these crayfish with live plants, Snails, Shrimp, Small Fish, or other animals that can get injured/ eaten by these crayfish. If you plan on keeping 2 or more crayfish in the same tank, make sure to provide spots for the crayfish to hide during molting as they are very vulnerable and easy to be killed by other crayfish at this stage. Regular water changes is necessary to promote good growth and health. A 20% weekly water change is a safe way to keep these crayfish healthy. When you receive these crayfish, it is possible for their color to be faded away. This happens due to stress but color will come back in around 1 week after being received. If you see your crayfish is not getting their color back, make sure the water quality is good and temperature is at a good level. Lower temperatures and bad water quality can stress the crayfish and slow down growth speed. Crayfish need a good diet. some good food options are cucumber, carrots, high protein pellets, spinach, lettuce and some meaty foods. Without a good diet, your crayfish will not receive enough vitamins and minerals and can potentially lead to death.
