Description: If you’re looking for affordable pre-Golden Age comics, here you are: The American comic strip Little Orphan Annie by Harold Gray reflected The Great Depression in her adventures, along with her guardian Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks. Publishers Cupples & Leon released nine hardcover volumes reprinting the strip from 1929 to 1933. This lot features volume 4 (1929), “Bucking the World” and volume 6 (1931), “Shipwrecked.” Please see the photos for details beyond the description below: Bucking the World would grade a FAIR at best. The story is 86 pages long and the first 68 pages have some kind of crayon mark on them. Some of the coloring is unobtrusive; others are very messy. Still complete and readable. Shipwrecked is a bit better. There are a couple of pages where white areas are shaded with a pencil; there are pencil marks on the inside front & back covers. Also, the fabric used to cover the spine is splitting 3/4 of the way up from the bottom. About a GD/GD-.
