Description: The "Blue Ridge" model was introduced in 1999 by Litespeed after the cyclocross model "Appalachian" appeared in the late 1990s. What are the differences? I have no idea. The Blue Ridge had cantilever brake bosses so the bike could accept either cantilever brakes or V-brakes. This resulted in the frame accomodating wider 700C tires up to at least 47mm width tires. This made it usable as either a cyclocross bike or later as a gravel bike. It was ridden as alight weight touring bike as well, though it lacked the full complement of pannier braze-ons necessary to be considered a full touring model. This particular frame was brazed by Daniel Lynsky before he started making titanium bikes bearing his name. That fact alone should influence its value as a collectible bike. Plus it is in great condition for however old it is! It was thoroughly cleaned and detailed. It has been tuned and is ready to ride. Since much of the bike will be disassembled prior to being shipped, it will have to be be made ride-ready againby either you or your local bike shop. The last 5 photos were added to demonstrate what this Blue Ridge bike would look like with larger gravel bike tires. I installed 700 x 47 mm tires on some 700c narrow rim wheels. The frame accomodates a 47 cm tire easily for the front fork but the back wheel rubs the chainstays up near where they attach to the bottom bracket juncture when the 700c x 47mm tire was tested. It looks like a smaller size tire would be required (say a 700 x 42 mm tire) or narrower tire if gravel tires are going to be ridden.
