This is most noticeable when all cars are attached and is running at higher speeds. I think the rubber traction tires on the rear wheels need replaced. They are noticeably thinner after comparing to a newer engine. Tires are also available from the Lionel Support site or from third party vendors. YouTube videos showing how to replace traction tires on model trains makes it seem like this could be an easy fix Otherwise engine and tender lightly used Everything else in this box is new, unopened and untouched
