The lens is a faithful reproduction of the original, with a "4-element, 4-group" configuration with no lamination, and the shape of the aperture ring control lever, one of the most distinctive features of the lens in terms of appearance. Image quality changes greatly in response to the aperture control, allowing photographers to enjoy the bokeh effect with some blurring when the aperture is wide open and the sharpness when the aperture is stopped down at the same time.
