Description: We go to estate sales regularly and come across a wide array of unique and rare items. We add to our growing online inventory daily. We pick up new items from all over the world and all over the US. We also have a growing customer wish list. If you'd like to, feel free to add us to your saved seller's list and let us know what you collect and/or need. We’d be honored to add you to our customer wish list.We ask what we consider to be a fair price for anything we sell and understand that our idea of a fair price may be someone else's 'that's too much' price. If that's the case, feel free to make us an offer and will consider it. We also have sales regularly, so check back often. There is always a Sale by TheBay!We purchased a very large classical and jazz album collection from a former DJ for a local Atlanta area radio station, WBLJ in Dalton, GA, back in the 1950s-1970s awhile back. We bought the collection for the jazz albums, but never got around to listing the classical albums. Almost every album is a radio station promo and they are almost all in exceptional condition with jet black vinyl and many look like they could've been pressed yesterday. We'll be listing them individually and in lots over the coming weeks since it will take awhile to list well over 1,000 albums. If classical vinyl is your thing, feel free to add us to your favorite sellers list and check out our inventory as we add more as often as time permits. In order to help with soaring prices seemingly everywhere, we will be offering 'pay for shipping on your first album or lot and receive FREE shipping on all other albums, as long as they're made in one purchase and all ship together. We charge a bit more for shipping on lots versus individual albums, so if a lot is included in the purchase, the shipping cost for that lot will be all you pay for shipping. Also keep in mind that promo albums were among the very first albums to be pressed by the manufacturer, after test albums. These albums were distributed to radio stations to play and promote the album prior to release for sale to consumers. As most record aficionados know, the earlier the pressing, the better the sound quality. Now onto the item for sale. For sale is a pair of PROMO LPs conducted by Leonard Bernstein, both released by Columbia Records, including:The Moldau and Other Favorites, ML 6279, 1966Bernstein Plays and Conducts Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 1 in C, ML 5807, 1963PLEASE NOTE: We do not play test albums, as that would take us a lifetime to do for thousands of albums. We give a visual description and estimated grade of the vinyl. Please see the pictures above for an idea of the condition of the labels, sleeves and album cover or box, if a box set. If there are any condition issues that you can't see, such as seam splits, scratches or spots on the vinyl, we will indicate that in the description. As you can see, the albums have jet black vinyl and the labels are impeccable. The album sleeves are in really nice condition with no seam splits. The album covers are in really nice condition as well with no seam splits. In case you missed it in the pictures above, there is residue left over from the promo sticker that was removed at some point the front of one of the album covers and the DJ wrote a note on the back of the other album cover. The vinyl on the albums are really clean with no scratches on either album. There are some really light marks on the vinyl from being stored for decades that will almost certainly come off with a proper cleaning with more on The Moldau than the other album. We'd estimate these albums to be in excellent condition, but many folks would estimate it to be in near mint condition, particularly after a proper cleaning. These albums will be shipped in a cardboard album box via media mail with the USPS.Thanks for looking and God bless!
