Description: This United States Wildlife Heritage Collection has something for everybody. Each painting appeals to a different facet of life. "In Morning Light" (1987) - In this picture, Stans appeals to the hunter. These pheasants scavenging for food bring back memories of the last hunting season - "the one that got away." "Old Mill" (1988) - This print brings out the beautiful colors in nature during the autumn season with Mallard ducks flying overhead. This also appeals to the romantic as one sees evidence of lovers as witnessed by the carving on the tree by the extinguished campfire. "His Domain" (1986) - Stans captures the patriotic spirit of our country in this portrait of an eagle. Each feather is defined on the regal and powerful eagle. This show of strength is symbolic of America. "Misty" - This print features two common loons which are also known as "Great Northern Divers". Though they gained popularity through exposure in the film "On Golden Pond" and as Minnesota's state bird, many people are unfamiliar with the bird itself. Loons seem to mate for life. Both parents incubate the eggs and help raise the young. In "Misty" the two babies are positioned between the parents as a protective measure for the chick's sake.
