We saw the price for this Pon and thought, wow, its cheaper than regular Lechuza, let's buy a whole bunch of pallets!!! Joke was on us! The largest size bag the factory makes for Cactus Pon is 6L while all the other bags are 12L. Due to the significant weight of shipping this product, we can only ship this product using flat rates, or we would have to charge even more (yuck!). THE FACTORY SEALED BAG IS ONLY 6 LITERS, MAKING THIS THE SECOND MOST EXPENSIVE PON MANUFACTURED BY LECHUZA WHEN BROKEN DOWN BY WEIGHT. They say this mix is superior to their other pon mixes, but we have not had the opportunity to experiment with it to verify this claim. PLEASE NOTE, ALL SIZES EXCEPT THE 6 LITER OPTION ARE REPACKAGED TO MEET YOUR NEEDS FROM OUR 6 LITER FACTORY BAGS, AND THEREFORE WILL NOT BE RECEIVED IN LECHUZA BRANDED PACKAGING. IF YOU NEED THE LECHUZA PACKAGING YOU HAVE TO ORDER A 6 LITER FACTORY BAG. 100% Authentic Lechuza Pon with no fillers or additives. Ingredients: pumice, Lava Rock, Fine Grain Zeolite and Vegetable Carbon How is it different from Regular Lechuza Pon? - It seems to be a bit more "Gritty" or "Sandy" It has all the same properties as regular Lechuza pon with the largest particle size being 100% comparable to regular lechuza, but the zeolite seems to be a much finer particle size making the pon look a bit more sandy or gritty. When we compared to regular Lechuza Pon, it does appear that there are more fine Lave Rock particles too, but this is not advertised on the bag and only an observation on our part. The product also has carbon (Charcoal). Carbon has been classified as an essential additive for soils for centuries! We are honestly not sure if we will continue to carry this product in the future, it is so much more expensive than the other Pon products offered by Lechuza we did honestly choke when it arrived and we realized the factory bags were half the size of their other blends. At this time we will only consider reordering this form again if everyone absolutely loves it and asks us to. This mineral based plant substrate offers excellent drainage properties which ensures optimal root aeration and allows your plant to flourish. The substrate provides a stable pH value and the absorbent properties of the mix allow it to act as a reservoir to store water and nutrients, releasing them back to the plants as needed. Lechuza Pon does not compact or clump and its mineral base deters fungi and a large number of soil born pests such as fungus gnats. Pon is ideal for allergy sufferers. Please be aware Lechuza Pon is also enriched to feed your plants for 6 months, after which you will need to start applying fertilizer to feed your plants. Our analysis of the feed used determined the feeding is very light, if you are growing greedy plants or fast growers, you will probably want to consider applying additional fertilizer. Lechuza advises in their marketing it is impossible to overwater when you use their product and water logging will never be an issue. This most certainly is true, but if you are growing in decorative containers that do not allow water to drain when you need it to drain, it doesn't matter what you are growing in, standing water is standing water! Please also note if you are using this Pon for very heavy feeders, it is strongly recommended you supplement from an early stage with additional fertilizer. If you are using it for low nutritional need plants, you should not need to worry about feeding for at least 5-6 months.
