Description: LEAD SHEET for weighting Model Passenger cars (or other rolling stock) 2 sheets LSW100 = 1 inch wide (1 x 12 x 0.050± inches) lead sheet weighs ≈3.2 ounces.The LSW100 will also fit into a Rivarossi Passenger car (it is not necessary to notch the LSW for the window tabs) LSW118 = 1 1/8th inch wide (1 1/8th x 12 x 0.050± inches) lead sheet weighs ≈3.6 ounces. The LSW100 is just under 1/16th inch (0.062) thick, and will facilitate the installation of interior details in your passenger cars without interfering with those details, while maintaining the necessary weight. (NMRA RP20.1) The long edges of the sheet may have a small ‘burr’ from slitting. The lead is a dull gray “mill” finish. Yes, it's ugly, but nobody will see it! Instruction sheet included. The lead sheet is soft and easily cut with regular scissors, wire cutters or hand-held single hole-punch. Clean your cutters after use to prevent cross-contamination to other surfaces. Trim the sheet to length (to adjust the weight) and to clear any interior obstructions such as side-wall ribs and holes for screws. After you are satisfied with the weight and fit, glue the sheet inside the chassis floor with a liquid adhesive such as automotive weather stripping adhesive, or similar permanent adhesive for support and to prevent rattling. (The lead sheet is not capable of ‘self-support’.)If necessary, a brayer roller can be used smooth the lead sheet.(The picture of brayer rollers are included for your information and are NOT included with your purchase.)A hammer will dent and deform the lead. Thereafter, you can install the interior details on top of the LSW100. LSW100 or the LSW118 may also be used to replace the stock Athearn steel weight usually installed in freight cars.Be sure to glue the lead sheet to the floor before assembling the car!!This LSW100 will also fit Rivarossi cars with less trimming than the LSW118The last picture is a Roco track cleaner pad with a small piece of LSW100 glued in the recess.
