Description: You are looking at a very rare, long out of production Le Creuset enameled cast iron Cassoulet Dish, also known as a Cassole. This was made for and sold exclusively by Williams-Sonoma in about 2009. I've never seen it for sale since anywhere. The unique round conical shape is the hallmark of a Cassole. Meant to make the classic French dish of beans, sausages, and duck confit, the shape allows for the breaking and re-breaking of the surface to stir it into the stew as it cooks. It has a capacity of 4.5 quarts, and is suitable for cooking on induction, electric, or gas stoves, and in ovens. The cassole comes with a lid and has large, square double handles, making it easy to use and transport. As noted in the condition statement, there is rubbing to the bottom (from my Enclume pot rack) and minor contact scratching on the one side. That's it. Nothing that remotely impacts its safety or future use in the slightest. I used this to make cassoulet once before determining it was a lot (and I mean a LOT) of work. It's time to send this onto its new home and allow it to be lovingly used! Shipping via USPS with insurance. Smoke and pet-free home! Thanks for browsing!
