Housed within a handsome art deco style red and silver cover are 48 Albertype photographs which show a comprehensive collection of images depicting the famous palace, castles (Trianons) and gardens of Versailles. Versailles, is a royal château in Versailles in the Île-de-France region of France. In French it is the Château de Versailles. When the château was built, Versailles was a country village; today, however, it is a suburb of Paris, some 20 kilometers southwest of the French capital. The court of Versailles was the centre of political power in France from 1682, when Louis XIV moved from Paris, until the royal family was forced to return to the capital in October 1789 after the beginning of the French Revolution. Versailles is therefore famous not only as a building, but as a symbol of the system of absolute monarchy of the Ancient Régime. All 48 photographic illustrations measure 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches and are in excellent condition with no bends, tears, or creases and are very sharp and has strong tones with great contrast and clarity. Back has the official National Museum of Paris Edition stamp. Please email with any questions and please "VIEW SELLERS OTHER ITEMS". Thanks Track Page Views With Auctiva's FREE Counter
